About the event

The Critic (2023) is a gripping British thriller that reveals the dark side of London's theatrical world. Starring Ian McKellen as ruthless critic Jimmy Erskine, the film explores ambition and betrayal.

When Erskine is rejected by his former newspaper, he targets Nina Land (played by Gemma Arterton), a struggling actress. Their encounter leads to a Faustian bargain, resulting in blackmail, murder, and suicide.

Based on Anthony Quinn's novel, The Critic explores power, morality, and deceit in the glamorous yet dangerous 1930s London theatre scene. Prepare for a thrilling cinematic experience!
